Brookfield Renewable Power Fund

Brookfield Renewable Power Fund

The Brookfield Renewable Power Fund (formerly Great Lakes Hydro Income Fund) was established in November 1999 as a publicly traded investment vehicle to acquire long-life, low cost generating assets which provide stable and sustainable cash distributions to unitholders. Brookfield owns approximately 42% of the units on a fully-exchanged basis, with the remainder owned by institutional and retail unitholders.

The fund owns and operates high quality assets which produce electricity exclusively from environmentally friendly hydroelectric and wind resources located in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, and New England. These facilities include 42 hydroelectric generating stations and one wind farm with a combined installed capacity of 1,652 megawatts ("MW"), generating on average, 6,382 gigawatt hours ("GWh") of electricity annually, with interconnections with the Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia and New England power grids.

The fund’s units are listed for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol BRC.UN.
