Position Summary
The Brookfield Infrastructure Group is one of Brookfield Asset Management’s primary operating business groups. The Infrastructure Group operates and manages over $60 billion of assets. Our portfolio is comprised of approximately 25 long-life, high quality infrastructure businesses with high barriers to entry that generate stable and growing cash flows. Our portfolio of infrastructure assets are primarily in the utilities, transport, energy and communication infrastructure sectors, located in North and South America, Europe and Australasia. 

The Vice President, Business Technology is a new role to Brookfield Infrastructure, and will ensure that the strategy and delivery of system solutions within our portfolio companies enable the growth ambitions across our group. The successful candidate will be a savvy business partner with an IT background capable of ensuring operational processes are in place to support technology services, information security and due diligence activities consistently across our portfolio management companies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute IT due diligence on prospective assets as we look to expand our portfolio
  • Provide guidance and advisory services for technology projects, strategies and roadmaps
  • Ensure appropriate IT infrastructure and processes are in all portfolio companies:
    • Provide guidance and advisory services for technology projects, strategies and roadmaps
    • Identify and quantify IT risks across the portfolio companies
    • Leverage Brookfield enterprise agreements and corporate standards where appropriate
    • Communicate with service providers to ensure that they conform to information policies and standards
  • Lead and have accountability over the Brookfield Infrastructure cybersecurity program
    • Report on Information Security / Cybersecurity risks and trends, and impact to the portfolio companies
  • Provide assistance in third-party service provider selection and contract renewal

Qualifications & Requirements
This position offers an opportunity for growth within the Infrastructure team and the wider Brookfield Asset Management group. To qualify, candidates must have:

  • Strong business and consultative skills, that enable to individual to bridge the dialogue between executives making long term business decisions and technology teams that are core to overall business success
  • The ability to document, analyze and recommend technology solutions that improve overall business profitability and effectiveness
  • Experience and proven capability to transition technology organizations in companies being acquired or merged 
  • Strong skills in Organizational Change Management where companies undergo large transformational initiatives or where the operating dynamic changes significantly
  • Minimum experience of 10 years in setting strategy and executing IT projects including direct field experience
  • 7+ years’ corporate IT experience in supporting complex enterprise environments
  • Experience in Information Technology environments and best practices including execution, deployment, and incident resolution
  • Proven track record of ensuring the delivery and implementation of IT solutions where scope is effectively managed and delivered on time and on budget
  • Demonstrated understanding of resolving people and process issues prior to implementing new technologies
  • Experience in managing and overseeing third-party service providers, service delivery execution and business & commercial governance
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and cyber risks
  • Strong awareness and experience in IT audit and compliance management
  • Knowledge of prevailing industry trends including ‘Cloud’ business models, “as-a-service”, cyber-security, “big data” and Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Enterprise management systems and effective methods/processes services delivery
  • Bachelor Degree in Information Systems or similar area of study
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative, where independent thinking and action is a constant
  • Excellent written and oral communication business skills: the successful candidate is “bilingual” in business and technology communication skills
  • Collaborate across all levels of the organization while respectful of varying opinions; share information grounded in research
  • Self-motivated and proactive with respect to both managing workload and professional development
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities
