Luiz Renha is a Managing Partner of Brookfield Capital Partners based in Rio de Janeiro with over 34 years of operational, corporate, and mergers and acquisition experience. Mr. Renha joined Brookfield in 2001 as Chief Executive Officer of tin mining company Cesbra. In 2004, Mr. Renha joined Brookfield Energia Renovável, responsible for mergers and acquisitions and was subsequently appointed Chief Executive Officer and President, building one of the largest private energy companies in Brazil through organic growth and small- to middle-market acquisitions.
Prior to joining Brookfield, Mr. Renha spent four years as the Executive Vice President of the chemical division of White Martins-Praxair in South America and Mexico. Over the years, Mr. Renha has developed a network of relationships in several economic sectors, strengthened by his 15-year academic experience as an MBA professor at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
Mr. Renha holds degrees in Chemical Engineering and Business Administration from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro (PUC) and completed a specialization course in energy in France.
