    Origin Energy, which supplies electricity and gas to 4.5 million customers, is the latest, big Australian-listed company to head towards private capital hands.

    The business, spun-out of cement maker Boral in 2000, has almost 140,000 shareholders, mostly Australians, and is soon to be bought out by a couple of big financial players from the other side of the world.
