Niel Thassim is Chief Operating Officer & Head of Client Strategy for Brookfield’s Private Funds Group. In this role, he is responsible for various aspects of the PFG business and the evolution of our client strategy globally. Previously, Mr. Thassim was Head of Asia Pacific & Middle East for Brookfield’s Private Funds Group.

Prior to joining Brookfield in 2013, Mr. Thassim served as managing director and Asia Pacific head of Deutsche Bank’s real estate investment management business (RREEF) following several senior roles within RREEF and Deutsche Bank. Before that, he held executive positions with Coopers & Lybrand, Bankers Trust, Credit Suisse First Boston and Colonial First State Investments.

Mr. Thassim holds a Master of Applied Finance degree from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Sydney. He serves as a Global Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.
