The First Concentrated Solar Project in Chile

Investment Spotlight
Minute Read
Cerro Dominador is the first concentrated solar project in Chile and an important framework for the country to continue to build up baseload. It combines renewable power generation and storage to be able to serve over 250,000 homes in Chile around the clock. Cerro is at the forefront of renewable energy technology, combining both generation and long-term storage. No other project does this at this scale.

Cerro is helping Chile reach its renewable energy target of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. It will remove over 800,000 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to close to 400,000 cars coming off the street. The company generates long-term, predictable cash flows with 23 highly rated distribution companies. Revenues are indexed to the U.S. dollar, so there’s no currency risk.

Cerro is promoting ESG values from construction through generation. It employs over 1,300 people working onsite, with close to half of them from the local community—and more than half of those are women.
