San Francisco Multifamily: Contrarian investment case study
In early 2024, Brookfield acquired a portfolio of approximately 2,100 multifamily apartments in San Francisco, making us one of the city’s largest residential landlords.
When others were withdrawing from the Bay Area, we took a contrarian approach and took advantage of a unique opportunity to own a portfolio of scale. We are investing to elevate the resident experience and strengthen long-term value in one of the nation’s most dynamic housing markets. Already, we’ve achieved stabilization and occupancy continues to rise.
Center Parcs owns and operates six villages across the U.K. and Ireland, with capacity for ~25,000 guests, high–quality accommodations and a range of exceptional leisure facilities—each set within 400 acres of protected and enhanced woodland. Work is underway on a seventh village in the Scottish Borders. Since 2015, Brookfield has partnered with Center Parcs’ outstanding management team, reinvesting over £750 million into the business.

In June 2025, we successfully executed the initial public offering of The Leela.
