David Coates is a Managing Director in Brookfield’s Real Estate Credit Group. In this role, he is responsible for the structuring and execution of real estate financings across the platform. He is a senior member of the Real Estate Credit team, where he focuses on the growth of the business, including structuring, capital markets activities and insurance-related initiatives.

Prior to joining Brookfield in 2020, Mr. Coates worked in private practice at Slaughter and May, where he specialized in leveraged finance, restructurings and insolvency, and structured finance.

Mr. Coates holds a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School and a Bachelor of Natural Sciences degree from Durham University.
