John Sweeney is Managing Partner and leads Brookfield's Private Wealth Group. In this role, Mr. Sweeney is responsible for Brookfield’s relationships with private wealth clients, private banks and wealth managers globally.

Prior to joining Brookfield in 2021, Mr. Sweeney served as the head of U.S. business development and sales as well as head of the Americas intermediary business at Oaktree Capital. Previously, he was the head of product management in the U.S. for the alternative investments business of Citi Private Bank. Before joining Citi, he worked for Morgan Stanley in various roles, including across alternative investments, risk management and institutional fixed-income sales.

Mr. Sweeney holds a Bachelor's Degree from Fairfield University.
