Michael Trefz is a Managing Partner and Head of the Americas for Brookfield’s Global Client Group. In this role, he is responsible for client relationships and capital raising activities across the region.

Prior to this role, Mr. Trefz was a managing director and Head of Capital Formation for the Americas at Oaktree, where he oversaw the capital raising efforts across credit, real assets and private equity.  Previously, he held senior capital raising and product specialist roles with Solus Alternative Asset Management and Brevan Howard, where he covered institutional clients across the U.S., Canada and Latin America.

Mr. Trefz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut and is a CFA charterholder.
