Rachel Chao is a Managing Director in Brookfield’s Global Client Group. In this role, Ms. Chao focuses on credit-oriented relationships and capital raising activities for strategic clients across APAC.

Ms. Chao joined Oaktree in 2011 where she was general manager of Oaktree Shanghai and a managing director and Head of Major Accounts in APAC capital formation at Oaktree Hong Kong. Previously, Ms. Chao held investment roles at Adveq in Zurich and Shanghai as well as Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation in Sydney, focusing on private equity, infrastructure and real estate investments globally. She also worked as an investment banking analyst at Citigroup.

Ms. Chao holds a Master of Applied Finance degree from Monash University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Australia.
