Names of board members and their bios

Saad AlFadly, Chairman

Saad AlFadly is the Chair of Brookfield’s business in Saudi Arabia. In this role, Mr. AlFadly provides oversight of corporate governance, risk management, and long-term strategy, working closely with the executive team to position the firm for sustained success in the region. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2025, Mr. AlFadly was the founding Chief Executive Officer of Hassana Investment Company, the investment manager of GOSI and one of the world’s largest institutional investors. Earlier in his career, Mr. AlFadly worked at the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) in its investment department, managing sovereign reserves and institutional portfolios. He also held senior leadership roles at Morgan Stanley Saudi Arabia and SNB Capital, where he led investment teams and managed complex client mandates. Mr. AlFadly holds a Master’s degree from Boston University and serves on the boards of several prominent financial and investment institutions.

Jad Ellawn, Board Member

Jad Ellawn is a Managing Partner, Regional Head of the Middle East, where he is responsible for the Firm’s activities in the region. Mr. Ellawn is responsible for bringing high-conviction investments to the investment committee for the Middle East Partners strategy. Mr. Ellawn has been investing in private equity in the region since 2010. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2018, Mr. Ellawn held senior roles in the private equity division of a leading international investment bank. Before that, Mr. Ellawn held various roles within a large investment bank in New York and London. Mr. Ellawn holds a Master of Business Administration degree from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University.

Philippa Elder, Board Member

Philippa Elder is a Managing Director in Brookfield’s Legal & Regulatory group. In this role, she is responsible for corporate legal, governance and regulatory compliance for Brookfield’s asset management activities in Europe, Middle East and APAC. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2007 following the acquisition of Multiplex, she has held transactional and regulatory legal roles in our London and Sydney offices. Before this, Ms. Elder worked at international law firms in Australia and the U.K. where she focused on corporate finance. Ms. Elder holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from King’s College London.

Aanandjit Sunderaj, Board Member, CEO and Head of Asset Management

Aanandjit Sunderaj is a Managing Director and leads our office in Saudi Arabia, in addition to being responsible for investor relations for Brookfield’s private equity funds in the Middle East. Mr. Sunderaj joined Brookfield in 2012 in the real estate team based out of Mumbai. He then moved to Singapore and built out the operations platform for Asia Pacific and then subsequently to Dubai and built the Middle East platform. Prior to Brookfield, he held various roles in investments and portfolio management. Mr. Sunderaj holds a Master of Science degree from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Moravian University.

Rasha Saleh, Independent Board Member 

Previously, Mrs. Saleh served as Independent Director and Vice-Chair of the Board of State Street Financial Solutions Saudi Arabia, where she also served as Chair of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees. She has also served on the boards of Saudi Venture Capital Investment Company and The Northern Trust Company of Saudi Arabia. Earlier in her career, Mrs. Saleh served as Chief Compliance Officer at Credit Agricole.

Mrs. Saleh holds a Master of Financial Integrity and holds advanced certifications from the International Compliance Association in Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering. She is also a registered person with the Capital Market Authority and has completed CME-1 and CME-2. In addition, Mrs. Saleh serves as the Saudi Country Head for the Sohara Global Platform and is a member of the Rotary Club of New Alamein in Egypt.

Aanandjit Sunderaj, Board Member, CEO and Head of Asset Management

Salman Alshaykh, Head of Portfolio Management

Salman Alshaykh is Head of Portfolio Management. In this role, Mr. Alshaykh focuses on supporting the firm’s investment activities across the GCC and the Middle East. He brings regional private equity investment and portfolio management experience. Prior to his role at Brookfield, he held various investment roles with leading regional investment firms. Mr. Alshaykh holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a Bachelor of Finance & Accounting from the University of San Diego and has successfully passed the CFA level-2 exam.

Ali Al Hasan,  Chief Compliance Officer & MLRO

Ali Al Hasan is Chief Compliance Officer for Brookfield in Saudi Arabia, where he is responsible for managing and supporting the legal and regulatory function of Brookfield Arabia for business services. Prior to joining Brookfield in June 2025, Mr. Al Hasan served as Chief Governance, Risk and Compliance Officer at Aramco Ventures, the venture capital investment arm of Aramco, where he established and led the GRC function. Earlier in his career, he held senior compliance roles, including Chief Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer, at leading global investment banks and asset managers. Mr. Al Hasan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals and a Diploma in International Compliance from the International Compliance Association.

Abdullah AlMuneef, CFO

Abdullah AlMuneef is Chief Financial Officer for Brookfield in Saudi Arabia. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing and supporting the finance function of Brookfield Arabia for business services. Prior to joining Brookfield in June 2025, Mr. AlMuneef held multiple audit roles at PwC and EY, most recently serving as an audit manager at PwC. He led engagements for clients across industries including listed retail, manufacturing, real estate and government funds. Mr. AlMuneef holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from King Saud University and the SOCPA qualification from the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA).

All complaints must be submitted in writing to the Chief Compliance Officer complaints_KSA@brookfield.com or by post to the Firm’s registered address.

Upon receipt, the CCO will acknowledge the complaint and will provide information on the Firm’s process and expected timelines for reviewing and responding.

To help us handle your complaint promptly, please include:

  • Your identity and contact details (name, address, telephone number, email address), and confirmation of whether you are acting on behalf of another person (and if so, their details and your authority to act);
  • The reason(s) for your complaint, including relevant facts and any key dates and times (where applicable);
  • Copies of any supporting documentation (where relevant).

The Firm will assess all complaints independently and impartially, and will do so without undue delay. We will provide a written response no later than eight (8) weeks after receipt of the complaint, or within any shorter timeframe that may be required. We aim to resolve complaints as quickly as possible.
