Being a good steward in the communities where we work is just one of our ESG principles that underpins what we do at Brookfield. The ways in which we support the local community is as diverse as our people and business, manifesting in the form of volunteerism, donations as well as sponsorship.
Brookfield has undertaken a three-year sponsorship of North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club in Sydney. The sponsorship will support the local organisation to reduce their operating costs, whilst minimising their carbon footprint. This means funds saved from electricity bills can be directed to resources to support life saving as well as the club’s education programs.
Our partnership with NBSLSC extends past our corporate support, with a number of our team proudly volunteering to keep members of the community safe.
How is Brookfield involved?
Through our sponsorship we will be supporting the implementation of solar at the club. Our support equates to:
- Solar panels are anticipated to produce 50,000 kW hours per annum
- This is estimated to reduce the club’s carbon production by 43 tonnes per annum
NBSLSC has calculated these saving’s to be the equivalent of taking approximately 15 cars off the road and will save the club $5,000 per annum.
